VOICE CHAT IN MICROSOFT 365 COPILOT

Start a New Voice Chat in Microsoft 365 Copilot

Voice is now part of Microsoft 365 Copilot, giving you a hands-free way to work on the go. Just click “Start a new voice chat” in the input box and speak naturally—Copilot listens, responds in real time, and even lets you interrupt mid-conversation. You can adjust its tone, speed, or volume, mute when needed, and end the chat anytime. Voice is perfect for multitasking: capture ideas, prep for lessons, or brainstorm during a commute without typing a word.

Security and Privacy You Can Trust

Voice interactions follow the same enterprise-grade security and compliance standards as text chats. Transcripts are stored under your organization’s retention and audit policies, but audio is never saved. Microsoft applies additional safeguards for intellectual property, harmful content, and AI safety checks, so educators can rely on a secure experience.

Where It’s Available

Today, voice chat is live in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app (iOS and Android) for licensed users, with desktop and web support coming soon. Broader rollout across the Copilot ecosystem is expected by year-end.
