Editor is coming to Word and PowerPoint Online. A couple of months a new feature referenced as “Ideas” was announced. The concept behind Ideas was to leverage new AI-powered writing capabilities in Word Online. This feature leveraged the natural language and intelligence capabilities with the goal of helping students get more precise and helpful writing feedback. It’s features like this that truly give the teachers using Word and PowerPoint more time back. These features will now be included in Editor rolling out this summer.
PowerPoint Online Dictation: In 2018 the ability for students to create PowerPoint presentations using Dictation in PowerPoint Desktop was added.
- What to look forward too: the ability to use Dictation in PowerPoint Online and PowerPoint Mac (expected to be released later this summer).
Improved Speech to Text accuracy: Over the past month, Office 365 and Windows have rolled out improved speech to text (Dictation) updates that have significantly improved accuracy and quality.
- What to look forward too: Updates in Word, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook Desktop. You will also see up Word Online and PowerPoint online speech to text features (expected soon).
