At the last Ignite event, Microsoft unveiled exciting plans for Copilot in Outlook. Recognizing the importance of classic Outlook, Microsoft has been rolling out Copilot features to enhance your experience. Below are some key features.
Summarize by Copilot: When you receive an email with a lengthy thread, Copilot can quickly summarize it for you. You’ll get a concise overview with key points, making it easier to catch up on the conversation. To access this feature, select the “Summarize” button in the reading pane. It’s available in build 16.0.17028.10000 in Current Channel and Monthly Enterprise Channel.

Coaching by Copilot: Copilot provides suggestions to help you communicate effectively in important emails. It ensures the right tone, clarity, and reader sentiment. To use coaching, select the Copilot icon in the ribbon after drafting a message. Available in build 16.0.17231.20182.

Draft with Copilot: Easily create emails starting from a prompt. After selecting “New Email” or replying to a message, choose “Draft with Copilot.” You can adjust the length and tone before the email is drafted. Available in build 16.0.17425.20174.

Starting in June, Copilot’s chat experience will be added to classic Outlook for Windows. It allows drafting emails, asking questions, summarizing conversations, and connecting across enterprise data—all within Outlook. Copilot requires a Microsoft 365 license and aims to enhance productivity across platforms.
