Microsoft SharePoint has introduced a new Preview mode for Pages and News posts, allowing authors to see how their content will appear on various device types while editing. This feature is designed to enhance user experience and content management in SharePoint.
Key Features:
- Preview Button: A Preview button is now available in the command bar while editing Pages and News posts. By selecting this button, users can see what the page will look like in view mode for the audience.
- Device Types: Users can navigate between Desktop and Mobile device types when previewing Pages. For News posts, users can also choose to view the email version as Desktop or Mobile.
Rollout Timeline:
- Targeted Release: The rollout for this feature is scheduled to begin in late January 2025 and is expected to complete by late February 2025.
- General Availability: For Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, and DoD, the rollout will begin in late February 2025 and complete by late March 2025.
User Impact:
After the rollout, a Preview button will be available in the command bar during the editing of Pages and News posts. This will allow users to preview their content in both Desktop and Mobile views, ensuring a consistent and optimized experience across devices.
This new feature will be available by default, and no admin action is required before or after the rollout.
