Microsoft Teams has introduced a new feature that allows users to personalize the placement of notifications on their screen. This update, available on the Teams Windows desktop client, aims to enhance focus and productivity by allowing notifications to appear in less intrusive areas.
Key Features:
- Customizable Notification Placement: Users can now choose to place notifications in one of four locations: top right, bottom right, bottom left, or top left. This feature will be enabled by default and is expected to be fully rolled out by mid-February.
- Enhanced Focus and Productivity: By positioning notifications in less intrusive areas, users can minimize distractions and better concentrate on tasks. Notifications will appear where they are most visible and least disruptive, boosting overall efficiency.
- Intuitive and Flexible Interface: Users can adjust notification locations to best fit their workspace, ensuring a seamless, comfortable, and adaptable working environment.
How to Enable:
To use this new setting, navigate to Settings > Notifications and activity > Display and select your preferred notification location: bottom right, top right, bottom left, or top left.
Availability:
This feature is available to members of the Teams Public Preview or Microsoft 365 Targeted release using the new Teams client on Windows. IT administrators need to enable “Show preview features” in their update policy for the Public Preview, or global admins can grant access to a select set of individuals or the entire organization for the Targeted release.
With the ability to customize the position of notifications in Teams, you gain:
- Greater Focus: Minimize distractions and better concentrate on tasks.
- Improved Productivity: Stay informed without breaking your workflows.
- Intuitive and Flexible Interface: Adjust notification locations to best fit your workspace.
